"OUCH! WOW!!!"

At 14 years old, I tripped over my new
Sears weight bench my parents surprised me with.

After getting up on my birthday and going to school, I was disappointed that my parents seemingly didn't get me anything for my 14th birthday. I was so upset that I stormed to my room after baseball practice and totally didn't notice the brand new Sears DP black bench press and weight set sitting in my doorway.

Needless to say, I was embarrassed and surprised at the same time and quickly apologized to my dear parents.

This was the start of millions of repetitions, sweat drops, and protein shakes. At 17, I entered and won the Mr. Teenage Oklahoma bodybuilding competition.

Since then, I've entered and won (& lost) countless other bodybuilding shows. All of this culminated in 2008 at 40 years old, at the mega Kansas City Gold's Classic bodybuilding show where I won my coveted Master's Pro Card.

And then again, in 2009, at the huge Southern States Show, where I won my Open Pro Card in the sport of natural bodybuilding.

It's been incredibly awesome! I am passionate about getting and staying in shape.

This is part of my living, because as a certified personal fitness trainer, I get the opportunity to help others reach their physical best and I love it! WHY? Because, in my experience, our fitness-success translates directly into our life-success.

As my fitness clients trim inches off of their waistline and gain more endurance, I love hearing how their productivity at work increases and how they can do more with their families. It's a beautiful feeling to help people become their best.

In addition, I teach a class I created called "Bootcamp Fitness". I incorporate basic bodybuilding moves that target the entire body at each class; and I use various sports moves, as well. Moves I borrow from football, mma, soccer, baseball, golf, etc. are a few.

And as an ordained preacher and children's evangelist, we also use children's games at the end of many of our classes; such as Fitness Dodgeball, Exercise Freeze-Tag, and Work-The-Glutes Musical Chairs; just to name a few.

The participants love going back in time and getting in shape in the process! I've had some great high's and low's in my fitness journey. Winning is always great. But, it's the losing that makes winning that much sweeter! We can't have rainbows without rain, and we can't have roses without thorns. I've learned in my life to appreciate each moment! Times do get tough; but just wait, a better day is closer than we think.

I live by Philippians 4: 13,

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!"

And also, Philippians 3: 13,

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before."

My mission in life is to love, live, and demonstrate a Godly & Healthy lifestyle so that kids, teens, and adults adapt the same lifestyle in their lives! I thank God for the chance to motivate many at my Facebook page under Smiley Wydell Elmore Jr. and fanpage under Bodies By Smiley.

We also touch lives through our website at www.bodiesbysmiley.com.

Thank you, Leanne, once again for this great opportunity! God bless...He made us special! Smiley, PhD.
