If you are reading this article, then there is a huge chance that you have already heard about CBD. You may have read about CBD online or heard first-hand testimony from someone who is a user. Hence, the possibility that you may be asking yourself the question: “Why is there so much fuss about CBD?”

In this post, we will focus on the effectiveness of CBD.

UNDERSTANDING CBD

The term CBD is short for the word cannabidiol. It is a substance that is extracted from cannabis plants. One of the many reasons why CBD has gained popularity among all age groups around the world is because its chemical composition doesn’t get the user high. In addition, it is a substance that has been promoted by several individuals and companies for its wide scope of effects on health issues. A lot of people are testing the effectiveness of this substance for themselves as there are not many proven results from clinical research. Several people around the US are consuming this substance in various forms like CBD gummies, oil-filled vapes, tinctures, etc.

Recent research conducted on over 2000 users of CBD around the world focused on their opinions, knowledge, and experiences. This research indicated that over 85 of US citizens have heard about CBD and about one-fifth of them have it. Learn more from Berkshirecbd.

WHY DO PEOPLE USE CBD?

About 55 of the surveyed users of CBD indicated that the main reason they use CBD is to help them relax. 50 of these same participants said they used it to reduce anxiety and stress. The number of participants that used CBD to relieve chronic pains in joints and muscles and improving their quality of sleep was close to 50.

22 of participants consumed CBD for social use, 20 in treating migraines, 17 in offsetting nausea, and 11 for skincare. 8 of participants used CBD as a sexual enhancer, 9 for menstrual relief, and 8 for seizure treatment.

IS THERE PROOF SUPPORTING THESE CLAIMS?

A research director at the University of California said that there is very little proof of the effectiveness of CBD in humans. She explained what she meant by proof in humans was double-checked, controlled, and rigorous studies. She added that there is also very little clinical proof that CBD is not as effective as some people claim. She simply concluded her statement by saying that there are no quality studies, as a whole, on CBD.

However, she remains positive, based on CBD studies on animals alone, that CBD is effective in the treatment of various symptoms. She said that knowing the right dosage is one of the reasons why medicinal CBD usage in humans is quite complicated. She also said that the varying ratio of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) — the substance responsible for feeling high — to CBD is also a cause of these complications in humans.

In conclusion, knowing the right dosage of CBD to consume for a particular health condition makes drawing accurate conclusions on its effectiveness complicated.
