I love working out. The older I get the more motivated and inspired I become. Frankly, I can’t even believe I’m going to be 45 this year; I feel stronger and more fit than I was at 25! I’ve always been a pretty physically active person. I started taking dance classes at age five, kept dancing and taking gymnastics throughout school and also did track & field and volleyball as well. I even started teaching aerobics when I was just 15 years old. |

I started weight training around the age of twenty; though I wasn’t taking care of my body in other ways; alcohol and bad food were part of my lifestyle for a long time. Though the food got better in my later twenties, the alcohol became a true addiction that I hid from family and friends through my twenties and all the way until I was almost 42. I finally gave that up in 2009 and have been completely alcohol free for two and a half years now. I credit the rest of my healthy lifestyle for keeping me disease free through my alcohol addiction. If it wasn’t for my now obsessive dedication to weights and fitness, I may still be drinking today. But I have had a true mind shift, and my health and longevity is what truly matters the most now. I’ll take fitness dedication over alcohol addiction any day! |

I did my first figure competition in 2008. After I quit drinking, I did two more shows, both in 2010; but I think doing those shows so soon after quitting drinking affected my ability to stick to the diet-so I don’t feel I really gave them my best shot and actually thought I never wanted to compete again. But I’ve been bitten by the bug and am now going for a fourth competition this year at the INBA All Females Classic in Melbourne at the end of June. I am more excited about this show than any other. |

Being completely alcohol free for so long has really given me energy and confidence that I just didn’t have at the other shows.Aside from training myself, I love helping others to become their healthiest. As Certified Personal Trainers, both my husband and I enjoy training people at our private training studio. I also like to assist people with any advice I can give as well as lend an ear to anyone with addiction problems. I can’t imagine living any other lifestyle than a healthy and fit one! |
