I started bodybuilding at the age of 16.

At the time I never really pictured myself as a bodybuilder as I was quite overweight and did resistance training so I could be considered an ‘average’ body type rather than ‘chubby’.

I hired my first personal trainer at the age of 18 and from then weight lifting became more of a fun ‘addiction’ rather than a hassle.

This was definitely the best decision of my life, and I always recommend anyone else to seek out a personal trainer for their self.

During my High School certificate I decided to throw myself into the deep end and take a risk enrolling to do a Certificate III and IV in fitness while studying for my school certificate.

It certainly paid off – school finished and I finished my cert III and IV then getting a job at a local gym as a personal trainer and les mills group fitness instructor.

Admittedly I am quite obsessed with my body image but I refuse to look at this as a bad trait, it has always kept me in the state of mind that my body could be better and gives me the motivation so I continually improve what I have.

My first competition was the ANB PZN Asia-pacific international Bodybuilding competition in Queensland 2008 – I was extremely happy with the outcome coming 2nd place.

Because I was quite close to coming first I decided to take a year off and re-compete in 2010 and try take 1st place. While I didn’t quite do as well in 2010 ( 4th place in both competitions ) my body was definitely in the best condition - so it was definitely a personal victory.

I am now at university studying physiotherapy and will be hitting the stage again. My own personal goals are to land a sponsorship with a sports brand company and take 1st place in state or national competition.
