What is the Pre-Judging?
A pre judging is the nitty gritty of the event, or basically where the majority of the decision are made in regards the competitor placings. Sometimes if a category is close the judges will assess each athletes posing routine to decide the winner. There are 2 rounds in the physique and figure categories that make up the pre-judging.
Symmetry round:
Athletes are instructed to complete quarter turns so that judges can assess their overall balance, symmetry and proportions.
Muscularity round:
Athletes are instructed to perform the 7 compulsory poses so that they can assess complete development of each muscle group, definition, balance and overall muscularity.
It is recommended that each athlete understands how to perform the quarter turns and compulsory poses so that they can present their physiques to the best of their ability on the day of the event.
The event finals is where the athletes perform their individual posing routines to music of their own choice. It is without a doubt the most entertaining part of the show because every athlete gets to show their unique signature poses and personality to the audience. If you are new to the world of Natural Bodybuilding and Fitness or are looking to compete in the near future it makes sense to come and view both the pre-judging and finals so you can get a better idea of what is required of you onstage and how the event is run.
