Like a french desert, layered, complex, fine, delicate...............mmmmmm no!!!!
I am an honest, hard working type of person who believes honesty is a trait, not an action.
I tend to always make sure my 'back is covered' with an alternative plan before I play. I am the proud father of my two boys Braeden and Connor, whom I wish knew more of me, and also a "step-dad' to two other boys, Mitchell and Daniel who are my partners brood.
I love the fitness industry, being a Y junction in the road of life I travel. The year of 2008 was a turning point for me. It included the relocation from Cairns to the Sunshine Coast to start my life with my partner Leanne, the joining of our two families and the start of a new direction in my life. With the change to a passion in the fitness industry, also came with the desire to fulfill one of my long term goals and that was to compete in a Body Building Competition.
I met a personal trainer who was larger than life, he was a nice guy, and seemed very professional. Whilst I never trained with him (perhaps that may change - the offer is already out there), he did once write me a diet. I was more interested in him as a competitor. He competed novice that year, and did extremely well. He was my inspirational turning point....
At 102 kilos, and having to lay on the bed to get my pants on, times were going to change, and change they did. I became a personal trainer, and launched a very successfull Personal Training business which concluded the year 2010 as being in the Top 3 Personal Training Businesses on the Sunshine Coast - being honoured with the prestigious title of Finalists in the Sunshine Coast Excellence in Business Awards 2010!
I also commenced Competition Preparation at 22 weeks out!!!
I finally concluded the journey in that small chapter when I stepped on stage at 82 kg, and around the 12% body fat mark. What a year!
There are some 'knockers' out there so focused on destroying dreams and other peoples happiness - we are such believers in what you put out there is what you get back. The year 2010 was one of the most challenging years of my life in so many more ways than one - but together with Leanne we have overcome every challenge and taken amazing leaps forward in all facets of our lives. Together we united and unstoppable.
Its time to focus on the building phase. Leanne and my number one goal at the start of this journey was to be able to get up on stage and compete together. Thanks to Kel and Col Johnson, their motivation, their support and advice - that dream will soon become reality when we have the opportunity to compete in the couples division at one of the upcoming shows.
I am focused on a new journey to another Body Building Competition and becoming more and more involved with this amazing industry. From being involved in the industry for what seems such a short time we have had the opportunity to meet, learn from and surround ourselves with some of the most inspiring and supportive athletes in the different federations - enjoying watching each and every new opportunity present itself and drive our future in the most positive light.
